“This little guy was found lost and wandering in a neighborhood two weeks
ago. No chip or tag and no one has responded to fliers. He is a great
boy with a terrific personality. Loves to play with other dogs. He is
estimated to be around a year and a half to two years old. The woman who
found him has him at her home but she has 3 senior dogs , who he loves
but they don’t like him ,and a cat who has taken refuge in a bedroom and
hasn’t come out since Rocky has come in.

The woman is trying to save his life, but he can’t stay much longer. She will take him to Broward Humane Society if a rescue can’t help her.”

THE RESCUER HAD TO MOVE OUT OF HER APT WITH HER TWO DOGS AND IS LIVING IN A FRIENDS APT. OUT OF A SUITCASE IN ORDER TO KEEP CANDY SAFE FROM HER DOGS WHO HAVE ATTACKED HER 2X. CANDY REMAINS AT THE APT SEPARATED FROM THE OTHER DOGS. THIS CAN’T CONTINUE FOR LONG. CAN ANYONE HELP WITH CANDY? SHE LOVES CATS AND DOGS. A REAL SWEETHEART.
Candy is a 10 month sweet baby bully girl who was dodging traffic on a stormy night. Her puppy was following behind her. A couple opened up their car door for her to get in and she jumped in, unfortunately the puppy didn’t make it.
The rescuer brought her home and vetted her and was attempting to hold on to her and find her a home, but her own personal female dogs attacked Candy twice, very seriously. There is nowhere to separate them in the small apt.  This is very dangerous and in order to keep Candy from being attacked again, Candy will have to be brought to a shelter. Can anyone help?
Candy is 35-40 lbs. loves other dogs and cats and never stops wagging her tail. No aggression whatsoever.

He’s a male, 3 years old….good with people, and other pets, and cats too! Must have vet reference. Call clinic to make appt. to meet him! Not sure about children….since he was rescued from Miami Dade Animal Control on death row. His owner died, and the ladies family didn’t want him.

Buford
finally got well enough medically,  to go to his Forever Home with
Kathleen & Geoff and their 12 year old Mastiff to live in Venice, Florida. Thank you both for giving Buford the second chance at a happy Forever life in your home! We are Forever grateful to you both!

Little Buford….. he’s 3 1/2 months old. Clung to life for over 4 weeks…but is a survivor! He is a sweetheart! Pure bred Bullmastiff puppy. Going to get around 150 lbs! Possibly….being sick might of stunted his growth some. He beat Parvo and clung to life for week! But is TOTALLY recovered now and ready for a Forever Home! *It is important to use Flea Prevention all year long especially living in Florida.

 One of the most common issues pet owners face are fleas. The type of flea most seen in Florida is known as the Cat Flea. It can be found on household pets, as well as wild animals and humans. The lifecycle of a flea relies solely on whether or not it has access to a host. In order to reproduce, a flea needs a blood source to feed off of.  The cycle begins with an adult flea laying their eggs on the host, which then fall off onto carpet, bedding, and furniture. After a few days the eggs hatch, and the larva thrive off of any particles found in that area. They then spin their own cocoons, and turn into an adult flea within a week.  However, if lacking a host, a pupa can lay dormant until vibrations are felt, and then emerge and attack. This is why many people experience random armies of fleas in their house.  Contrary to popular belief, fleas are a year-round parasite, due to the warm tropical climate of Florida. The summer months are when they become most active and increase in population.  Due to this, it is important that your dog or cat remain on flea prevention all year. There are many different products out there, that can protect your pet. If a pet is on flea prevention and still getting fleas, the problem could be within the home and furniture. In this case, make sure to treat both the pet and house.  Pets that are infested with fleas are prone to medical issues such as flea allergies, tapeworms, loss of hair, and skin irritation from scratching. In worse cases, a pet can be so infested that it becomes anemic from the loss of so much blood, which can even result in death. Make sure to talk your veterinarian about any flea problems that may be occurring, and protect your pet all year long!
